Children's Ministry
Our worship day begins together at 11 AM in the Church santuary.
During worship, the children's sermon reinforces the key messages from the text for that week. Children are often invited to share their own insights and participate through music and movement during services. Following the Children's Moment, young children may go to nursery school or to one of the Sunday School classes.
Childcare for Infants is available from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm each Sunday. Sylvia Stuard directs our nursery.
Children also meet to study the Bible and other key issues of faith. Lectionary-based
curriculum allows for a shared exploration of texts which guide
each Sunday's service of worship, enabling an age-appropriate approach
that informs and enriches the experience of church.
For Broadway's children, the classes also provide an opportunity
to learn and practice social skills, and share a heritage of
faith and values in a creative, nurturing setting under adult
guidance.
Our children's ministry also includes time for fellowship and creativity. Arts, drama and craft projects are scheduled throughout the year. Picnics, apple pickings, and other fun activities are often scheduled as well. The children also sometimes read scripture in worship, act in a dramatic skit, or lead songs.
